Accidents at work are very common and can occur in any job, in any situation. You shouldn't be afraid of filing a work accident claim against an employer if you have had an accident at work. After all, they have a duty to provide safe working conditions, and if they don't fulfill this then they are breaking the law, as well as putting you at risk.

Work accidents can happen regardless of where you work. You may think that factory accidents and construction site accidents are the only types of accidents which occur at work, but office environments have their own set of dangers to watch out for as well.

Every employer has a set of responsibilities to their employees to ensure their environment is safe, and the risk of an accident at work is minimal. This not only protects their workers, but prevents work accident claims being filed against them.

Responsibilities could come in many different forms, whether they be testing machinery regularly, providing adequate safety equipment, or informing employees of dangers in the workplace, and how to avoid them. Each environment will have its own set of work accident risks, which need to be handled by the employer.

If you have had an accident at work, speak to one of our specialist solicitors and make a work accident compensation claim today. Claiming is very easy, just speaking to one of our work accident claim solicitors in minutes.

If you have been the victim of inadequate advice or improper conduct from a qualified, professional person and lost out financially as a result, you may be entitled to make a claim for professional negligence. Have you lost money as a result of poor advice or a mistake by a: Solicitor, Barrister, Accountant, Surveyor, Financial Adviser, Estate Agent, Stockbroker?

For a professional negligence claim to be successful, you will need to establish the existence of a duty of care on the part of the professional, and that this duty has been breached. The standard test of breach in professional negligence claims is whether the defendant has matched the abilities of a reasonable person in the same profession. If it is clear that the duty of care has been breached then it is also necessary to prove that your financial loss came about as a direct result of the negligent professionals actions and, that such losses are reasonably foreseeable.

When making a claim, it is advisable to use the services of specialist professional negligence solicitors. At Global House Solicitors, we can provide you with essential advice on: existence of a duty of care, scope of that duty, quality of the advice that is given by the professional issue of causation, duty to mitigate, and, measure of compensation.

Certain procedures must be followed when making a claim for professional negligence. Because, at Global House Solicitors, we understand the procedure and are professionally competent in handling professional neglegence claims, you will have peace of mind while we process your claim.

The most common causes of slip, trip or fall accidents are spillages which leave the floor slippery or badly maintained paths which cause raised sections of ground or potholes. If you suffer a slip, trip or fall due to someone else's negligence, then you may be entitled to make a personal injury compensation claim.

Circumstances you can compensation following a slip, trip or fall.
If you slip on a pool of water inside a building open to the public such as a bank, a supermarket or a restaurant and injure yourself, then the personal injury compensation claim would be made against the occupier's public liability insurance policy.

If your accident was on a council owned property such as a public footpath or a council house rented out to a member of the public, then you may be able to make a personal injury compensation claim against the local authority if the accident was due to their negligence. For example, you may be able to make a personal injury compensation claim if you tripped and injured yourself on a badly maintained footpath; however, you would not be able to make a personal injury compensation claim against the council if you tripped on an item left lying around within a council owned property by the tenant unless you could show that the council itself was in some way at fault. You could of course claim against the tenant but this is unlikely to be worthwhile unless the tenant has relevant insurance cover.

If your accident was on private property such as a house or piece of land privately owned by an individual, you would be able to make a personal injury compensation claim providing the accident was the fault of the land owner or occupier and they had suitable insurance in force or the means to pay personally. If you are unsure as to whether you have a valid slip, trip or fall compensation claim, contact us for free legal advice.

Action to take after a slip, trip or fall injury
To make a successful personal injury compensation claim after a slip, trip or fall, you would need to prove that another person was responsible for your personal injury (in this case, the owner of the property where your accident happened).

To help your case, you should report the slip, trip or fall accident to the staff or owner at the time, make a note of your accident in the accident book, take names and addresses of witnesses to the accident and if possible take photographs of the area where the accident happened. In cases involving badly maintained pavements, it would be advisable to put a ruler beside the defect before you take the photograph to give an idea of depth/ height.

If you are intending to claim expenses such as prescription costs and travelling expenses as part of your slip, trip or fall compensation claim, remember to keep receipts as evidence.

If you have been involved in a slip, trip or fall accident you may be entitled to make a slip, trip or fall compensation claim. Contact us for free legal advice.
